ORNAMENTS

ORNAMENTS is a small Italian brand dedicated to interior decoration and accessories, with a strong artistic identity.

Founded in 2004 by Alessandra F. Borzacchini, the project blends ready-made elements with humble, often overlooked materials and techniques to create unconventional, poetic, and uniquely designed objects.

Words like transformability, mobility, modularity, stackability, sustainability, durability, and craftsmanship define the ORNAMENTS design process.

From embroidered tables to trays with moka-pot legs, and wine crates reimagined as delicate étagères, every piece is a fresh take on interior decoration — guided by the ORNAMENTS logo: an eye, symbol of a constantly shifting perspective on space.

These creations are elegant yet playful, minimal yet expressive, functional, narrative, and infused with color and personality.

In interior design, ORNAMENTS responds to client requests by creating environments where harmony connects all elements, aiming to deliver spaces that are welcoming, balanced, and healing.

The clients who choose ORNAMENTS share my vision: they value thoughtful design and are open to a collaborative, meaningful dialogue throughout the creative process.

About Me

I was born and raised in Italy, between the Apennine hills and the Tyrrhenian Sea.

My background is rooted in classical humanistic studies, followed by academic training in art history, Eastern cultures, and Japanese language and culture (in which I graduated in Rome).

After working in fashion in Milan, I traveled extensively — especially to Japan and Southeast Asia — refining a sensibility that is open, curious, and deeply contextual.

Along the way, I studied ancient techniques such as gilding, stucco, and fresco, explored ceramics, and began to design furniture that is both dynamic and ironic.

In 2004, I founded ORNAMENTS as a custom interior decoration service, starting with the restyling of vintage furniture. Since 2007, I’ve been producing one-off pieces or limited series, blending design, art, and craftsmanship in a self-produced, independent practice.

Bringing beauty and harmony into homes has always been my deepest calling, and interior decoration became my field of action.

In my design work, I draw from a rich personal palette:

the warm, serene minimalism of natural materials, light, and color; the textures of fabrics, nomadic carpets, hand-decorated walls; the layering of styles and eras; geometry, florals, neoclassicism, and chinoiserie — all woven together in an endless exercise in balance and eclectic lightness.

Because life is beauty.

And we need beauty to live better.
